Reflecting on a Century of Territorial Transformation
This exhibition presents the evolution of land use and land cover in the municipality of Portimão over a hundred-year period. Through the analysis of multitemporal geographic data, historical urban processes are revealed, helping to explain the transformations observed from 1947 to 2047.
By placing Geography and History at the service of democracy, the exhibition encourages public debate on territorial change and sustainability. It offers tools for understanding how past trends shape future possibilities, particularly in the context of smart territorial planning and intergenerational development.
The exhibition is based on academic and scientific research funded by public sources. It is curated by Raquel Faria de Deus and José António Tenedório, with the collaboration of research fellows Ricardo Teixeira and Carolina Coelho, as part of the MOPLAND project.
Visiting Information
The exhibition will be on display until June 6, 2025, and can be visited during the regular opening hours of NOVA FCSH, at the Atrium of Building C, on the Avenida de Berna campus.
