We are pleased to share with you the partial recording of the 1st Participatory Workshop “Together for Sustainable Territories,” organized by the MOPLAND research team on January 31st. You can access the recording through MOPLAND’s YouTube channel.
José António Tenedório, a pioneer of Theoretical and Quantitative Geography in Portugal, delivered his presentation as a professor and integrated researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH) of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA). In a concise and pedagogical approach, he demonstrated the relevance of quantitative spatial models for Spatial Planning.
The event was held remotely, with 54 online participants, and was open to public and private entities, as well as to all those interested in the topic of land-use and land-cover changes, and the driving forces behind these changes.
Central and local government technicians played a significant role in the discussions, making this event an opportunity for MOPLAND to showcase its commitment to transferring the knowledge generated at the University to Society—specifically through the Department of Geography and Regional Planning (DGPR) at NOVA FCSH from NOVA and the CICS.NOVA research centre from the same academic institution.
