Understanding Territorial Changes – Workshop Presentation by Professor Eduardo Gomes

We are pleased to share the partial recording of the 2nd Participatory Workshop “Together for Sustainable Territories” organized by the MOPLAND research team on May 15th. The recording is available on MOPLAND’s YouTube channel.

Professor Eduardo Jonas Gomes, from the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT), University of Lisbon, delivered a compelling presentation on how spatial modelling can be leveraged to anticipate land use and land cover changes.

The workshop was held remotely, with 24 participants, including representatives from public and private sectors, researchers, technicians, and the general public interested in the dynamics of territorial changes and their underlying drivers.

The event served as a significant platform for constructive dialogue with technicians from central and local government, as well as the general public, reinforcing MOPLAND’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and society—particularly through the CICS.NOVA research centre.
